Hey everyone!
It's a little-known fact that I've been posting a bit to Instagram, and I'm planning to use it much more now! I mostly post works in progress, but I'm also going to start updating it with finished work! But if you're interesting in seeing progression images and various sketchbook drawings, check it out, maybe give it a follow? It's pretty lonely right now, so I'd love to see some of you over there!
Let me know if you have an account as well, I'll follow back!

SUP NERDS.

So I've been pretty inactive on here. I'm drawing every day, but I'm not submitting anything. There's a couple of reasons for that.

First off, I'm mostly working on commissions right now. A few of them are private, so I just won't be able to post those online -at all-. But also a good amount of them just aren't suitable for deviantART. I've posted those elsewhere, they're not hard to find, but just in case y'all thought I was dead or something, I'm just trying to keep this account a bit clean.

Another reason is that I've been doing a lot of traditional work. Mostly sketchbook stuff, so nothing really finished, but there is a lot of that. I don't have a scanner anymore, so I've refrained from posting any of them-- iPhone pictures look pretty janky, in my opinion. I might try to put together some sort of "photoset" at some point, just to sort of show what I've been doing. I've filled a couple sketchbooks and recently got a new one, which I intend to do some more finished works in, especially with Copic markers. I mostly work in pencil, but I've been meaning to break those things in more and more.

I've also found a whole bunch of old drawings that I never submitted here. Stuff from 2013-2014 mostly, but a few of them still hold up. I'm debating whether to post those or not, since it could be confusing ("Did this scrub get worse over the years?"). Might throw them into my scraps, but nobody looks at those, either. Ooooooy.
(And then another batch of those drawings are like 50-70% finished, so I could totally just wrap them up as if they're current work.)

Well, does anyone care about that stuff? My inactivity around here is starting to make me sad, since for a while I was getting into the habit of posting new work every two or three days. There's also the webcomic, which keeps getting pushed back, but I have a few pages painted, and around 30 drawn out. Maybe I can get back into posting WIPs. I do that all the time over on Facebook and Instagram,  but it never seemed "right" on deviantART.

I guess that's it for now. Thoughts? :O

Whelp, my semi-nude drawing of a character who is in college was removed by some admin. Weird, because there are actual hardcore images of that same character floating around on this website. Oh well, this site was never really kind to me anyway. I want to be more active here, but this kind of shit really makes it hard for me. It's pretty unfair. Well, not like I can submit anything new for a while, what with having no computer to work with anymore.

Darn though, I was proud of that drawing, and it was gaining some good traction. Oh well, guess I'll continue to barely post on this website. Maybe when I have a working computer again, I'll make a "SFW" edit, because I did really like how it turned out, and I'm annoyed that dA seems to always remove the work I'm actually proud of.

Well, I'm testing out this "post from the app" thing because... well, my computer is officially dead. I was using my laptop for a little over a year after my desktop bit the dust, and today my laptop crumbled in the middle of work.

Anyone familiar with me knows pretty well how much trouble my computers give me, and how bad my luck generally is. I'm usually okay with the lag and delays I get when trying to work, and the crashes and losing of work sets me back and angers me... but I usually get back into i after a short break. But now my last computer won't even let me click on a file without beeping and crashing (after a good few minutes of a frozen screen).

This is really troubling because a working computer is necessary for me to work. Drawing is my job, what I do to make my living... believe it or not. I draw for many clients, and as I type this, many of them are waiting on me to finish work. Sadly... right now, I can't. (Of course I can work traditionally, but without a scanner or a computer to clean up that work and make it production-worthy, that point is also moot. Also doesn't help that I'm colorblind, so color correction on the computer is absolutely necessary for someone like me.) It's really distressing, since in order to replace it, I need to make money... but I can't make money if I'm unable to work.

I'm mostly making this post to let anyone concerned with the time I've been taking know what's up. It might be some time before I can work again...

If you have ever wanted to commission me, for whatever it is, now is when I need it most!

September was a chaotic month for me, and it's feeling like a lot of things are out of my control. I'll spare the sob-story, but my financial situation has all but crumbled. My working speed slowed to a halt and my depression got pretty bad. The stress of the money troubles on top of everything else has not helped anything. So honestly, I need your help.

I usually try to balance my time between personal work (my comic project) and commission work. I'm realizing I need to take on more commission work, probably putting off working on my own stuff for at least a couple weeks. I'm finishing up my current commission queue today, and I'll be uploading most of them this week.

I'm going to be spending full-time doing commission work now. Expect the drawing to completed in 1-2 weeks from placing an order, and I will keep you updated with its progress. I'm willing to draw pretty much anything, and I always try to create a better piece than the last. If you're interested, or know anyone who might be, send me a note here or email me at MangaArtKnight@gmail.com! Or spread the word. Anything helps, really, and I want to keep making art for you all.
