This is my Maple Story character ToriAdept, who (like every other character I have in an MMO) is based on Tori from my in-progress comic. I did this mostly in SAI on my own computer, which is terribly sluggish. I was very indecisive with the composition, especially at the beginning. This was a drawing for fun, after all, so I wanted to do something pretty easy (for the most part). I still don't quite understand what's going on with the sword's design, it's a bit... all over the place. Buuuut that's what my character wears so it's all good.
Shes the cutest kaiser on Maple. Those wings are awesome! I also love how well you use random colors in the background. There's really no solid image in the background but the playful way you use the colors to fill the area is just an excellent filler *_*
Thanks! It was really just a quick sketch that I rendered out for the sake of having something up on Basil, just to see how much the site's changed. Damn. Not even eight hours later and I was pushed off the front page. With pin-ups like this, I usually feel like "less is more," and my favorite painter Todd Lockwood does the blended color filler a lot in his work. It's something I picked up from him.
If I may, you're anatomy is amazing, but the tail at the base seems too thick for it to be realistically emerging from her back. Her crotch ends sooner than where the tail gets hidden behind the leg, and since tails get thicker as you go up.. that does not make much sense. :3
I hope you understood what I meant, Im still trying to learn how to phrase these things :3
So Cool!!!! more maplestory art PLEASE!!!!!!! haha, jk paint what you would like! This is seriously awesome though! Im a Kaiser fan, especially the story line. My favorite class is Mercedes though, i LOVE those skills
Ah kay, was just making sure I wasn't derping out on figuring out the equipment >< Black isn't all that bad, as long as you keep it to a dark grey, I mean look at charcoal artwork! Though it's true even I keep away from actual black. I thought the sword's blade lacked that consistency with the rest of the armor though, with the orangey colour you picked. A red like that of the shoulderpad would've looked epic~ *Massive fan of the colour red*
I mean, in paintings, black is awful. Charcoal is kind of a monochrome thing. But the color black's presence will always muddy the colors around it. I'm actually colorblind, so what I mostly did was color pick from my avatar and screenshots of the equipment thumbnails, and adjusted the colors to go better together. Most of them are too vibrant for a painting, though. The little [!] pops up next to a color when it can't exist off the computer screen.
Ooooh yeah forgot that you were cb :l Sorry, faulty memory. Well then you've done an excellent job, handicapped and still making awesome artwork! I almost always use colours with an [!] since I find the colours you can't find in the world are so much better to look at, keeping in mind the colours fit what it's...colouring.
So I didn't reply yet because that was such a freaking hard question. Like. I'm all over the place. Fighting depression, taking on more work that I can handle, competing (poorly) with my classmates, pretty much being told I can't draw... man, this past week I was even told I don't have the right to be in the art world because of my style, and that my style makes me a pedophile. Like seriously! I'm also sad I didn't get to see you and Dan during winter break. That wasn't fair. :I
Of course! I don't go on much anymore, but over break I spent a night with a friend of mine and tried out this new class while he downloaded Guild Wars 2. They made leveling so bloody easy... I seriously got to 130 in on day.
